One
of the many projects
painted by students at the studio in 2006 were tea sets inspired
by designs of Jo Sonja. Thanks to one of my students, Kay, who
researched, bidded, and collected tea sets from ebay, yard sales,
and flea markets, everyone had their own unique tea set to paint.
First, the pieces need to be sanded. We were fortunate to have
someone that sand blasted them for us. Next they were painted
with two coats of JS All Purpose Sealer and allowed to cure.
Color selections were made in order to personalize each set to
each individuals desires. This was followed by hours of inspiring
and enjoyable painting. The results were fantastic and I wish
to share the excitement with these pictures. As an extra bonus,
all the tea sets have been invited to be on display at a "tea"
for a church in Billerica, MA on Sept. 16, 2006.
